Opening Times

St Mary’s is open for visitors every day, from 10am to 4.30pm  Sundays 12.30pm - 4.30pm. (Sometimes due to staff and volunteer shortages, it is necessary to close the church early, we apologise in advance if this is the case)  Last admissions will be 30mins before closing. On arrival you will be greeted by one of our Receptionists who will be happy to help you,one of our very informative Guides is usually available to tell you about the wonderful history of St Mary's.

 

Upkeep of St Mary’s

We make no charge for visiting our Church (except for Tower visits), but we do welcome a donation and suggest at least £2 per adult to help us maintain our beautiful, but very costly to maintain, building.

Group and Travel Trade Visits for a combined Guided tour of St Mary’s Church and Lord Leycester (Tuesday - Saturday only)

There is plenty for groups to see and enjoy during the guided tours of The Lord Leycester Hospital and The Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick. Booking procedure

All group and travel trade visits must be booked at least 4 weeks in advance by contacting the St Mary’s Church office at contact@stmaryswarwick.org.uk or phoning 01926 403940.

Coach Parking

For coaches, the long stay Coach Park is located in Hampton Road, Warwick by the racecourse in St Mary’s number 1 car park.   Parking charges apply. Signage is plentiful from whichever direction you enter Warwick.  The Sat Nav for the long stay coach park is:  CV34 6JP.

A drop off and pick up parking area is located in the Warwick Town Centre Bus Station and the Sat Nav for this parking area is:  CV34 4DD.

Welcome and Wave Away

If you would like one of the Brethren from the Lord Leycester to Welcome and Wave Away your coach in full Uniform please inform us of your request at the time of booking with your arrival and pick up times.

Group visits to St Mary's

We very much welcome visiting groups into our Church. Please book in advance by ringing the Parish Office on 01926 403940 or email visitstmarys@stmaryswarwick.org.uk.  A guided tour can be arranged to show you round if you request this in advance, there is a small charge and will take approximately 45minutes, however, our very knowledgable guides will bring the story of St Mary's to life and will be able to answer your questions too.

General information

The Church shop nestles in the 18th Century Nave, within the wonderful atmosphere of the church you can visit the shop to seek out unusual gifts including specialist religiious items, browse through a selection of postcards, greetings cards, maps and books, jewellery, rosaries, a variety of wall carvings and much more. Our dedicated shop team are waiting to help you make your purchase and our themed displays ensure new products are available for special times of the year such as Easter & Christmas. Also available Christening, Communion and Confirmation gifts and cards.

Specialist books about St Mary's include: "The Beauchamp Chapel" Text by the Revd Cannon David, "The Stained Glass Windows in the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick" by Elsie Kibble and many other guide books of St Mary's and Warwick.

The music of St Mary's Choirs is also available on CD and is often played along with a large selection of Church Music from all over the world.

- The church is close to all Warwick amenities, cafes and other attractions, so you can spend an enjoyable day or weekend in the town with plenty to do.

Photography and filming

Photography and filming, for private and personal use only, and with a hand held camera, is permitted. If you wish to take photographs or film using a tripod, a ladder, or any other additional equipment, permission must first be obtained from the Parish Office on 01926 403940. If photographs or film are for anything other than personal and private use, permission must again be obtained from the Parish Office, and a charge will usually be levied. The taking of photographs or film from the tower must also be cleared with the Parish Office.

 

St Mary’s Tower

St Mary’s Tower is open to visitors throughout the year, weather permitting, and offers spectacular views from the top. The charge for the tower is £3 per adult, students over 16 £2.50, students under 16 £1.50 and family ticket £6 (2 adults and up to 4 children).We regret the Tower is not suitable for children under eight years old.
