Access Statement
The Collegiate Church of St Mary congregation, staff and volunteers long to extend a warm welcome to all who come to visit.
Unfortunately, until we can make significant changes to this grade 1* listed building, access for anyone with physical disabilities is limited.
More specifically:
- Entrance to the crypt in accessed down a set of steep and uneven steps.
- Whilst standing in the entrance to gain view of this beautiful church is on a level, there are three steps up to gain access to the Chancel.
- There are steps down into the Beauchamp Chapel.
- Access to the toilets is only via one step into the Outer Vestry, then a further four steps down to the toilet area.
We are working to address the access difficulties and working towards a reordering of the church to allow disabled access to the toilets. As this is a significant historic building in Warwick, we would be delighted to have the support of individuals and organisations to this end.
